We are committing to helping them become open defecation free and accessing clean/safe water.

Signing Agreement Ceremony with Truemoney

True Money

May 3rd, 2016, Chamroeun Microfinance Limited and TrueMoney Cambodia Limited signed an agreement on bill payment service. Under this agreement, Chamroeun's partners will be able repay their loan through about 5000 TrueMoney Agents cross 25 cities/provinces in Cambodia. As mentioned by Mr. Pheng Raksa, CEO of Chamroeun, this agreement is another progress for us besides financial services, which we have been offered to partners as our mission and vision, to improve the livelihood of the poor partners as we've done so far, including the socio-economic services, micro-insurance and so on.

For this new additional service will play an important role in helping partners in the payment of loan to Chamroeun through TrueMoney agents with a special fee of 1,600 riel only per transactio. Also I believe and sincerely hope that this loan repayment service will provide benefit and the right choice to partners, which helps them to save cost, safety, convenience and flexibility as they can make their repayment even on holidays or weekends. Chamroeun and TrueMoney will continue to support and promote this cooperation to work smoothly and get support from several partners.

New repayment service to partners

Wing

To develop a better repayment method for our partners, Chamroeun has signed an agreement with Wing in late 2014 and the service was roll out to all branches by mid-2015.

Chamroeun expected that this service would provide another option for our partner to repay back their loan to us through any Wing Agent in 25 city/provinces in Cambodia. Instead of coming to Chamroeun’s branch office, this service provides them benefits as:

- Saving Time and Money: Reduces time and costs of transportation for making repayment at Chamroeun's offices, by making repayment through Wing Agents which are very closed to their residents.

- More convenient and flexible repayment time: Partner can make repayment even weekend, holiday, out of business hours.

- Multiple currencies accepted: Partner can make repayment in different currencies, in place.

PKMI

Extended MoU with PKMI Cambodia

The current and targeted partners of Chamroeun are the poor households in Cambodia who are not able to access to a formal financial services. We are actively support and protect them through our social and financial services, and more than that we believe that a formal healthcare is crucial for them to secure themselves from serious illness and unexpected calamity in their family.

From these reasons Chamroeun strongly supported its Foundation (Chamroeun Foundation Association, “CFA”) in the initiative to introduce a health and life micro-insurance scheme under a partnership with PRÉVOIR (KAMPUCHEA) MICRO-LIFE INSURANCE PLC., to its partners as a part of helping them mitigate risks and manage shocks since early 2013. This agreement has been extended to prolong the secure to our partners and their household’s members. Take part to this scheme, a partner or his or her household member is only paying a small amount of the premium which is approximately about USD 0.65 per month to cover the hospitalization, accidental disability, and death.

PRODUCT ONMICROINSURANCE SCHEME FOR BETTER HEALTH TREATMENT OF COMMUNITY

Microinsurance is a mechanism to protect poor people against risk (e.g. accident, illness, death in the family, and natural disasters) in exchange for payments tailored to their needs, income, and level of risk, but in Cambodia, very few poor households, include Chamroeun's partner, have accessed to formal insurance.

Along with the efforts to reduce above mentioned vulnerabilities of our targeted partners, Chamroeun actively supported its Foundation (Chamroeun Foundation Association, “CFA”) in the initiative to introduce a health and life micro-insurance scheme under a partnership with PRÉVOIR (KAMPUCHEA) MICRO-LIFE INSURANCE PLC., to its partners as a part of helping them mitigate risks and manage shocks since early 2013. Take part to this scheme, a partner or his or her household member is required to pay a small amount of the premium which is approximately USD 0.50 per month to cover the hospitalization, and accidental disability, and death.

Based on the positive results in terms of both figures and level of satisfaction expressed amongst the institution's partners who are engaging in the scheme, Chamroeun fully rolled out to all operational areas across the country where 41 offices in 15 provinces/city, in early third quarter 2014. Currently, 4,327 partners of Chamroeun are insured by this program which 901 partners are their household members.
